Gallery : Roger's 1984 Rabbit GTI
Roger's 1984 Rabbit GTI is a full-race rally car - and full race cars are the ones that we love best here at SCR, both for their
uncompromising nature, and the challenge they present for us. We started working on this rally car in the last part of 2009 and have already
had a great time working on the car and helping to support it at regional events.
One of the first things we did was set the car up with an aggressive alignment and give it a good once over. Roger was so impressed
with the improvements we had made he brought the car back for some engine work. The car is equipped with a ’95 ABA 2.0l, we removed the
cylinder head, ported it and then installed bigger valves, HD springs, Titanium retainers, TT 276 hydralic cam, Adjustable cam gear, and
ARP head studs. After the head was reinstalled we dyno tuned the vehicle using Roger's Haltech engine management. All in all we picked
up over 30% more power, and Roger is thrilled.
We are currently building a custom intake plenum for this car’s individual throttle body setup as Roger searches for ever improving stage times.
