Four More Podiums for SCR Drivers at BMW CCA AutoX #4
SCR Motorsport drivers were able to grab 4 podium finishes at the BMWCCA Auto-X this past weekend. A wonderful result since there were only four drivers representing SCR!
More importantly, Mark Baer was able to lock down first place overall for the event, once again taking the coveted 1000 point PAX time. Patrick LaCount also clinched fourth overall out of sixty-four
drivers in the afternoon competition. Lee Michaels took first and Dave Jobush grabbed second in BS class while Patrick LaCount was also able to secure
first place in AS class. Keep up the hard work, it is paying off everybody!

SCR Motorsport Young Driver Program Starts Strong
SCR Motorsport took a new step into introducing the next generation of racers to the SCCA this past weekend, with Johan Yost, all of 5 years old, taking his first timed competition runs
in Formula-Junior C Karting class. Johan was absolutely over the moon, excited to run, and had a huge amount of fun. Mom Jamie, and Dad Jay were all smiles as well, and the whole community of
autocrossers were 100% behind Johan as he made his first runs.
We're glad to be giving something back to the community that's brought us so much over the years, and we look forward to introducing more young drivers to the sport!

SCR 6 for 7 on Podiums at RMSolo Divisional
SCR Motorsport did very well in the RMDiv Solo Championship Series 2 (RMSolo Divisional) this past weekend with 6 drivers bringing 6 podium finishes home.
Mark Baer took 1st in BSP as has become his habit this season, and he was followed by his student, Gage Hollen, in 2nd.
In STU, Patrick LaCount took an outstanding win over the very fast Mitsubishi of Russ Johnson, an inspired performance on his part. On his heels was Conner Hollen on his heels in 3rd.
Lastly, and also per his routine for 2010, Chris Mayfield sewed up first place in SM in the Evo of Doom(tm), with his codriver Hsun Chen just behind in second place.
Congratulations to all our drivers and their continuing success in the 2010 season!

Mark Baer tops the PAX at BMW CCA #3
SCR owner and president Mark Baer added to his trophy case in fine fashion at BMW CCA Solo #3 this past weekend, taking top PAX for the first time, and winning the event outright.
Taking top score at an event is one of the big checkboxes on any serious autocrossers's wishlist, along with a national's trophy or championship. This one was hard fought, with Mark narrowly
eeking out the victory over Jamie Leben in second, a mere 3 points behind with 997, and Mark Mauro Jr. nearby in his X-Prepared turbo RX-7.
A big congrats to Mark for the win!

Top ten finish for SCR at the WeatherTech June Sprints
Jake Latham represented SCR Performance admirably with a top 10 finish at the annual Weathertech June Sprints at Road America, in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin, competing against
the best cars and drivers in the country.
Jake made the long tow out to Wisconsin with his SCR prepared Stohr DSR, to brave the high speeds and long straights of Road America, reporting peak speeds of 148mph. After running
a practice day to get accustomed to the new track, Jake qualified and finished 8th out of nearly 20 DSR's, in a field of over 40 cars. Jake brought the car home in that same 8th place
running a very close race with several other cars for the entire distance.
A short video showing some practice laps is on You Tube - it gives a decent feel for just how fast these D-Sports Racers are going
these days.
Congratulations to Jake, and we look forward to seeing results from the Runoffs, where we're coming back with an even better car.

SCR Braves the weather at RMSolo #8
This past weekend was as successful as it could have been for SCR Motorsport, considering a massive rain storm on Saturday at Dick’s which cancelled the last heat.
Saturday, Mark Baer was able to clinch 1st with his student, Gage Hollen, on his heels placing 2nd in BSP. Chris Mayfield took 2nd in X-class and was only a tenth off of taking top PAX for the event.
Patrick LaCount also had a successful outing, taking 1st in STU, while Nick Caruso had a great run in SMF taking 2nd for the day. Some of our other drivers were unable to post a
time since the event was rained out.
Congrats to all our drivers on their podium finishes!

June Updates from SCR Performance
It has been a busy month preparing for the Pike's Peak International Hillclimb with Savannah, but that doesn't mean we're not still racing!
At the RMSolo Summer series #6, SCR Performance showed up despite the rain on Saturday for Solo #6 in Commerce City. We were able to get through the hail and post some solid results.
Mark Baer was able to clinch 1st in BSP while Gage Hollen came in a respectable 2nd. Patrick LaCount was able to take 3rd in STU while Conner Hollen took 6th. It was a challenging course with
all the moisture but SCR and its drivers was able to keep the cars within their traction circle...

SCR posts another strong showing over Memorial Weekend
It was another winning weekend for SCR at the PPIR Solo series 4 and 5. To start, on Saturday Dave Jobush (STX), Hsun Chen (SM) and Mark Baer (BSP) all took first place in class. Patrick LaCount (STU),
Gage Hollen and Nick Caruso (SMF) took 2nd in class while Conner Hollen (STU) took 3rd. Sunday went just as well, with an exact repeat of Saturday's result, minus Nick and Hsun, and Connor, who dropped
to fourth in STU.
Over on the road course, inside PPIR's half-oval, was Jake Latham in DSR, kicking off his National season with a pair of second place finishes, both he and the leader lapping nearly the entire field of 21 cars
in the process.

1000 Points for Mark Baer and SCR Performance
It was another weekend filled with several podium finishes for SCR and its drivers.
Locally there was big news, as in the Rocky Mountain solo series, Mark Baer took 1st in BSP as well as top-pax time of 1000 points, making his first ever
1000 point event. A huge congratulations to Mark! In other classes it was a similar story, with David Jobusch taking 1st in STX, Nick Caruso 1st in SMF,
and Gage Hollen posting a solid second behind Mark in BSP, just 1.4 seconds clear. Over in STU, Patrick LaCount placed 3rd, with Conner Hollen just behind him.
Further afield, visiting the venerable Wendover airfield, were Chris Mayfield and Hsun Chen in the "Evo of Doom." Chris took a solid win in SM at the Wendover National
Tour, and will take home two more Hoosiers as a result.
Congratulations to all of the SCR Performance drivers for their strong finishes both regionally and nationally. Keep it up!

SCR on the podium 5 times at SCCA May Daze race
It was a another good outing for SCR Performance and its drivers this past weekend, taking no less than 5 podium spots during the event, across three drivers.
Continuing his run of good results was Jake Latham in his Stohr DSR, who won both in class and overall both days. Running the HPR West Loop on Saturday, he reset his own track record, lowering his mark
by about two seconds.
Savannah Rickli earned her regional license in her MINI Cooper S, getting to take her novice "X"'s off after two good days. She drove very well and showed excellent improvement
throughout the weekend, maintaining her composure despite being spun by an overeager Spec Miata whilst exiting the track. Her focus is now on preparation for the Pike's Peak Hill Climb coming up
on June 27th, where she'll be the youngest ever driver to compete at the event.
Also in the doorslammer race group was Patrick LaCount in his SpecM3, followed by Gage Hollen in his 94 325is. Patrick and another competitor in ITE put on a show Sunday afternoon, running nose-to-tail
the entire race, with Patrick finally taking the win by the length of his hood at the checker. Patrick placed 1st in class and second overall on Saturday, and took both wins on Sunday's race. Gage
was right on the heels of Patrick Saturday afternoon, finishing 3rd overall, and sat on Sunday due to "engine ventilation" issues. Both drivers will be back for the next regional races.

Lee Michael Blitzes the BMW's at RMC BMW AutoX # 1
The first BMW autocross of the season took place this past Saturday, following the successful school the last week of April. Lee Michael was the sole SCR driver in attendance, and
he flew the colors well, winning the BS class by a little over 1.7 seconds, and ending up the top BMW class driver on the PAX index. Lee claims 6 SCR-sponsored "Bimmer Bucks" for his efforts, and
is looking forward to a repeat performance at the next event June 19th at PPIR.

Chris Mayfield handily wins SM at Lincoln Pro Solo
May 1-2, 2010, Lincoln, NE: This past weekend, SCR Performance team driver Chris Mayfield achieved his goals: a class win in Street Modified (SM) class;
and parity with the top driver in B Street Prepared (BSP) class, another race division with nearly the same index as SM.
As is usual in early-season competition, the car Chris drove-a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution-had recently experienced changes intended to improve its abilities.
The AST 5200 series double-adjustable dampers were using as-yet untested spring rates, and the Evo's swaybars had been revised as well. Brian Tobia of Tobz Performance
Tuning improved the engine mapping to achieve better torque from the CBRD BBK turbocharger. Additionally, a strengthened and rebuilt transfer case by Jack's
Transmissions had been installed to increase the reliability of the drivetrain.
When Mayfield arrived at the event site on Friday evening, it appeared that the SM class might not provide much competition, as the field constituted mostly
vehicles from the lower-level Street Modified FWD (SM-F) class. By Saturday morning, however, that had changed: the SM roster filled out with the BSP class runner-up
finisher at the 2009 Solo National Championship and other trophy-earning, National caliber drivers-all driving well-prepped and similar Mitsubishi Evolution RS's and SE's.
Mayfield immediately found his graphite-gray Evo to be substantially quicker out of the hole than those of the competitors, often gaining a car-length lead from the
drag-race style start before reaching the first course feature. The recent changes to the car worked exceptionally well, and Mayfield was able to win the class with a
sizable .676-second margin of victory over second place. As the class winner, he also earned contingency prizes from Hoosier Racing Tire and Hawk Performance brake pads.
Not only did Mayfield drive quickly, cleanly and consistently out on course, but he also nailed the starts that are so crucial to the ProSolo racing format, keeping
nearly all of his reaction times to the “Christmas tree” starting lights to within 0.1-second of a perfect start; and rocketing the Evo through the 60-foot mark in
only 1.6-1.7 seconds.
As winner of his class, Mayfield automatically qualified for the Gumout Super Challenge round of competition, but declined to compete in the interest of extending
the life of the car's Hoosier tires, which were worn significantly by Lincoln Airpark's abrasive concrete surface.
Thanks to SCR Performance, Tobz Performance Tuning, AST Suspension, CBRD Speed Factory, and Jack's Transmissions for providing their critical components and expertise.
The result: a class-winning machine that literally stunned both spectators and competitors this weekend. Stay tuned for more developments and competition results!

SCR Customers running at the 100-Acre Wood Rally
One of our customers, Roger Matthews, sent us an update and some pictures from his competitive weekend at the 100 Acre Wood rally:
Heres a few photos from our experience down at the 100 Acre Wood Rally last weekend in Salem, Missouri. It was a fun event with ups and downs, lots of fans attending,
good weather, and amazing roads. We started pretty strong Friday night taking 6th/14 on stage 1, and then 5th/14 on stage 2. Then ran into fuel problems and a technical
mistake forced us to DNF the first day.
On day two we started out in 5th and again the fuel control problems (ran out twice and had to stop) kept us from attacking - we basically limped the car in the last two stages and dropped from 5th of 14 Group 2 (two wheel drive naturally aspirated) cars to 7th by the end of the last stage.
Overall a very fun event, learned a lot and it beat working by a long shot!
Take Care and look for us at Oregon Trail Rally in May.
We look forward to more updates!

SCR Driver Savannah Rickli advances to next stage of TDi Cup Selection
Savannah sent us an update from the Boston prequalifier for the Jetta TDi Cup, where she advanced
to the selection round in Las Vegas:
I am really glad that I made the decision to attend the last of the series of Karting Qualifiers for the VW Jetta TDI Cup. The experience of this weekend is something that I
would have been unable to gain from anything else. I would first off like to thank Mark Baer and the SCR Performance team for making this trip possible. Also, huge thanks
to my parents who have always supported me and to my father who braved the cold and rain all day today to watch and cheer me on. I have received incredible support this past season for
which I am immensely thankful.
Attending this Karting Qualifier was really my first brush with anything on a professional level. It was a wonderful way to start off what I am sure will be a long a long
series of professional experiences. An extremely positive experience, The TDI Cup team really went the extra mile. I enjoyed the venue where this event was hosted and special
thanks for CRG for wonderful karts that were used during today's event. I gained so very much from this weekend and I am looking forward to future opportunities with the VW Jetta TDI Cup.
I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all of the drivers who participated in the event. It was an honor to be able to be on track with many of the most talented kart drivers. After the
event I was invited to attend the VW Jetta TDI Cup Driver Selection located in Las Vegas in February of 2010. I am looking forward to opportunities with Volkswagen in the future.

SCR Performance Trophies at Nationals!
SCR Performance brought home some hardware this year in what proved to be a very difficult Solo Nationals for the Rocky Mountain Division.
Our very own Mark Baer brought home the final trophy in 13th spot for STU, driving the Starting Line Club BMW M3. In a class dominated by AWD Subarus and Mitsubishis,
Mark finished just 0.9 second out of first place, and was the only two-wheel-drive car in the top 25! Also flying the BMW banner was Chris Mayfield, slotting in at 29th
out of 46 drivers in the very popular STU class.
Big congratulations to Mark for adding a very big star to his driving resume.

SCR Performance celebrated the 4th of July this year the best way we can think of: by going racing!
SCR's BMW M Coupe was selected to be the official pace car for the 2009 "Freedom Sprints" race for the 4th of July weekend. And what a weekend it was! Drivers came from
as far afield as Ohio to race at High Plains Raceway, gain points for Runoffs, and compete with some of the best drivers in the country. Mother Nature cooperated begrudgingly,
and despite some heavy rainfall, all ten races were completed, and a great time was had by all.

Return to Pike's Peak
It was a much calmer weekend this week at PPIR, compared to our previous visit, but there were still lots of drivers putting in strong finishes at
PPIR.
This time it was just an autocross, with Mark Baer taking second in STU, just 2 tenths behind eventual winner Russ Johnson's EVO. Finishing a respectable
5th, and just out of the trophies, was Patrick Lacount, improving his strong standing in the 2009 Novice rankings.
Over in the indexed women's class, Savannah Rickli took the third and final trophy spot driving Chris Mayfield's STU M3, and in CSP, James Kosch took the win
in his SCR prepared Audi TT. Chris Mayfield was running a borrowed DSP BMW this weekend, and finished second, just over two tenths behind the car owner. Also taking
hope top honors was Nick Caruso in SMF, piloting his 2002 Jetta 1.8T.
Other efforts from cars familiar to SCR were Mark Smith's second place X-class finish, Adam Canessa taking 6th in Street Mod, and Cory Runnells taking 6th in Street Touring.
Congratulations to all drivers, see you next time!

Summer Racing season rolls on.
The 2009 Solo season continued in fine form for SCR Performance on June 6th, with no fewer than 11 drivers flying the SCR colors.
STU had a full field of competitors, with Mark Baer taking the win over Chris Mayfield by 4 tenths, ahead of Patrick Lacount in 7th.
Nick Caruso took the win in SMF by about half a second over Mark Foust, and in F Prepared, Yarko Thomas finished a close second still as a novice.
Just one week later, with 8 SCR cars this time, the tables were turned, this time with Chris edging Mark by about a tenth for second place,
himself in turn about 1 tenth back of STU winner Russ Johnson, with Patrick
again turning in a solid performance in 7th.

Memorial Day a memorable one for SCR Performance
Memorial Day 2009 was a memorable holiday for SCR Performance, taking wins in 3 different classes across two different days.
Concurrent solo and club racing events were held at Pikes Peak International Raceway, allowing several drivers to "Pull a Youngers", and
run Autocross and club races in the same day.
Mark Baer was in attendance with a group of students from the Starting Line Club, and Jake Latham was holding down the club racing side with his
Stohr sports racer.
Sunday, Mark took a convincing 980 point win in STU, over second place by over a second. Inside the road course, Jake cruised to an easy win, lapping nearly 3 seconds a lap
faster than the field, lapping his way up to 5th place.
Monday, Mark switched over to the road racing scene, and completed his regional competition license in outstanding style, racing hard to a 3rd place overall finish, a win in ITE. Highlight of the race
was a 3 lap extended battle in traffic, culminating in an exciting over-under pass in the Turn 6 Carousel. Nice show!
Jake spent the day fighting a few handling ills in the Stohr, but also had a thrilling race-long battle with an excellently driven Formula Continental, ultimately finishing second overall, taking
fast race lap again, first in class, and just half a second back of the leader at the checker. For sure, a rematch is in the offing! Check for some video from Sunday and Monday in the Movie Gallery

SCR Performance Wins at Farmington Natioal Tour
This weekend was a good one for SCR Performance, with Chris Mayfield taking a hard fought STU win at the Farmington National
Tour event in Farmington, NM.
Chris was fast but slightly dirty, winning by virtue of his first runs on both days. He adds:
"When we arrived I might have a decent shot at the win. Very tight in a few places, but if you looked ahead and went slow in the right places, you could make it a little faster.
I went out and laid down a great first run, which surprised me as much as everyone else. I almost took out ALL the cones in the finish as well. Came through the lights sideways
on the power, but managed to keep it together and not ruin the run. Sunday I drove like I had blinders on, and couldn't look more than 2 gates ahead. Still, by the end of the second day
when I finished my runs, when I came through the lights and the announcer said that I still had first, and I only had one more driver who could knock me out of the lead.
I watched his run and he knicked a cone, which sealed the deal for me.
"It was a bit surprising to stand on my first run from both days, but my strategy was to go out and make sure to run a clean first run, so that I had
something to stand on, and then go from there. The strategy worked well as both days I did not have the fastest scratch time,
but *did* end up with the fastest combined clean runs."

Success at May Daze SCCA Double Regional Club Race
May 2-4 was the first SCCA club race weekend at the brand new High Plains Raceway facility, and
SCR was there with a pair of sports racers.
Taking part in the club racing driver's school was Mark Baer in a Radical Prosport 1300. Mark put in a strong
showing during Saturday's sessions, including a win in the Open Wheel Students race. After dicing a bit with a
fellow student in a Formula Mazda, Mark ultimately pulled away and built a nice gap by the end of the race, taking
the checkered flag.
Based on his performance Saturday, Mark's second school requirement was waived, and he raced on Sunday. There's no going
back now!
Also in attendance was Jake in his Stohr DSR. The Stohr was very quick all weekend, despite experiencing a few 1st outing issues
that kept Jake and crew fairly busy. Net result for the weekend was two race wins, and a lap record of 1:46.2 for both DSR, and the
current overall record for HPR.
All in all, an outstanding start to the club racing season for SCR Performance.
We have to give mention to Carol Barclay, who also attended the driver's school, was signed off to race, and even won the Worker's Choice award. Haven't
ever seen Carol smiling quite that big - congrats Carol!
Check out the gallery for some in-car video of HPR - Enjoy!

It was another successful outing for SCR Performance at the 9th round of the Rocky Mountain Solo
series.

Pueblo Heat for "Frying Pan" SCCA Regional and TT
SCCA's first double-regional weekend at Pueblo was a hot one. SCR Performance was there with Jake Latham
in his Radical, and new driver Rick Weston in his SCR Performance prepared BMW M3.
It was a good weekend for Jake, with two pole positions and two wins in CSR, including an overall victory on
Saturday, which he topped off with a personal best lap of 1:31.3 in qualifying. A video of the first few laps of Sunday's race
will be available shortly in the gallery.
Rick Weston took his first laps ever on track and improved steadily throughout the day - safe to say the bug has
bitten him, and he'll be back.
Mention also for friends and customers of SCR at the TT event - Tyler Faucett, out for his first time, and David Jobusch. Well done all!

SCR performs at Rocky Mountain BMW CCA AutoX
June 28th and 29th was a good weekend for friends and customers of SCR Performance at Autocross #2 of the year
for the Rocky Mountain BMW CCA.
Leading the charge in X-Class was an incredibly fast Chris Mayfield in his BMW M3. Mark Smith was close behind
in his VW R32. Mike and Tyler Faucett were amazingly fast in their 328is BMW, while Jake Latham and Mike Feldpusch
solidiered home in Mike's SM2 Corvette.
Many students were on hand from Saturday's school, which counted Jake Latham, Chris Mayfield, and Mike Feldpusch among
its list of experienced instructors.
If you want to get started with racing, autocross is the single best way to do it. Ask us how to begin,

Records fall and action abounds at La Junta
SCR Performance was at the latest SCCA club race / PDX, June 21-22 in La Junta. The sports racers put on quite a show, resulting in some of the most exciting racing of the weekend.
After a Friday test day, six PSR's were present for this double-race weekend, in a field of about 20 assorted formula cars and sports racers, collectively known as the "wings-and-things" group. Action started early, with drivers shaking off the rust and re-learning their lines, as well as relearning the newly paved track.
Jake Latham's SCR Performance Radical took pole position both days, setting a new lap record of
50.5 in Sunday qualifying. Saturday he took the flag-to-flag win, and Sunday he kept his nose clean on a
deteriorating track surface to emerge victorious for a second win.
In Time Trials portion of the weekend, Mark Baer shaved two seconds off of his previous best in the SCR Performance
318is, owing to some ongoing development. Sunday the SCR 318 was in the hands of a brand new student, Angela Chun,
who completed the PDX and graduated to the Time Trials program.
Congratulations to everybody involved on a successful weekend!

Solo victories for SCR Performance drivers
RMSolo summer series #7 is in the books, and it was a good one for a pair of SCR Performance's customers.
Taking the much-sought and extremely difficult event win was Michael Feldpusch in his Lefthand Racing C5 Corvette,
sponsored by SCR Performance. Michael took the win in X-Class, and for the event, by .027 of a second, on the
strength of an amazing final run. Huge congrats on your 1000 points, Michael!
Another class win for an SCR Performance driver came in the form of Chris Mayfield in his STU M3, just barely edging his codriver for
the win, and proving that the new tire for ST this year is going to be the new Dunlop "Street-R" compound.
Congratulations to both drivers for their outstanding results, and the rest of the SCR guys at the event; Mark Smith,
Mark Baer, Rick Weston, Pete Zlamany, and Jake Latham.

Wheel and tire balancing now available at SCR
We've just finished installing our new top of the line mounting and balancing equipment. These new machines
are the best available on the market today. Composite heads on the tire mounting machine mean that we will never
scratch a wheel - even hard-to-mount sizes common on European cars. Our tire balancing equipment can detect faulty
wheels, faulty tires, and can correct for these if necessary.
We believe the peace of mind you'll get from knowing that your wheels will be mounted on the best equipment available,
by somebody who cares, is the most important feeling we can offer.
Order your new wheel and tire package from SCR Performance, and we will mount and balance them for free. learn more
